The Texas War Department is excited to be hosting BATTLETEX IV: A WARGAMING WEEKEND! This will be our fourth year of providing war gamers with a unique convention environment specific to war gaming. 4 full days, 50+ hours, of war gaming goodness. This year the venue has been expanded with more space and tables! Plenty of time, space, and opponents to get those seldom played games out of the display case and on to the table. Monster games are welcome! And while you have the opportunity to sign up for scheduled games, there will be tables set aside specifically for open gaming. AFTER you have reserved your room and BEFORE you register for the conference, email us for a discount code that you will use at registration to get the discount. ALCOHOL IS PROHIBITED. That requires a police officer and we don't want to pay for that. You can bring your own food and drink into the conference area. Free coffee and water will be provided throughout each day. There are plenty of restaurants and fast food joints within a 10-15 minute drive. Friday night a Whataburger combo (burger and fries) can be purchased for $10. The food will be delivered. This will be an option when you go to register. On Saturday, award-winning and Food Network-featured Heffernan’s BBQ Truck will be back serving delicious BBQ, sides, and desserts. They are a BATTLETEX tradition! We encourage you to buy two plates on Saturday; one for lunch and one for dinner. The hotel staff will change out trash liners throughout the day, but we are responsible for the cleanliness of the room. Please make an effort to keep the area free of trash. Once again, there will be a raffle of donated games. Last year, nearly 20 games were raffled off! This year we are asking for publisher support and hope to have another quality selection of games available. You will receive 1 raffle ticket with your registration. Additional tickets can be purchased for $1 each at BATTLETEX or you can get a much better deal by pre-purchasing raffle tickets when you register. BATTLETEX IV T-SHIRTS are for sale! Shirts are $20 each, paid when you register. They must be pre-ordered to guarantee one. They are thick cotton and hold up very well.
